Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and mapping services have become an essential tool for any planning or decision-making project that involves geographical data. As an early user of the application, KL Engineering has successfully incorporated GIS into our environmental and planning design practices. Using GIS as a platform, KL Engineering analyses a variety of data as they relate to design transportation. The data collected provides our clients and the public with the information needed to better understand their project. The information is often presented at Public Information Meetings and incorporated into project reports and studies.

Our GIS department has helped to develop land owner databases to determine existing property boundaries and mailing lists. KL Engineering provides its clients with the personnel who have the technical skills and professional experience needed to translate environmental study objectives into GIS and mapping form.
